Leaf n’ Learn is a free, family-friendly community event focused on tree planting, care, education and tree-inspired art on May 31, noon to 3 p.m. at Utepils Brewing, 225 Thomas Ave. N., #700.
At the festival tree experts and local organizations will share ways to keep your trees healthy: Learn how to improve soil health for your tree’s roots; where to plant based on sunlight needs; how to space tree plantings; how pruning helps support tree strength, and get tips on how and when to water after planting.
Other opportunities include: Tree-inspired art, create designs of trees and leaves with a local artist; POETREE station, write poems with a poet; and a puppet show, enjoy a fun, interactive show for kids to learn about trees.
They will also host planting demonstrations every 30 minutes and teach you how to dig a proper hole for planting, trim roots properly and plant at the proper depth. Info: minneapolismn.gov/news/2025/may/city-trees-events/.
