The new all-wheel skate park is nearing completion at Folwell Park, but folks of all ages just can’t wait!
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) designed the project, and the contractors have been working on it all summer and fall. Crystal Passi, MPRB Design Project Manager, says the project is nearing completion and expects the remaining work will be completed in the next few weeks.
The design and building teams have been trying to keep people off the site until the concrete is completely cured but found this to be virtually impossible due to the immediate interest by the public. While walking in the park recently I saw more then 20 youths using the skate park.
The all-wheel park is an open construction site so use extreme caution there until work is completed. The MPRB will schedule a grand opening next spring, so watch for notifications on the project website, cityofskate.org/skateparks/folwell/ or in the Camden News.
