On October 2, Camden resident Buzzy Bohn received an Award of Appreciation from the Minneapolis Police Department 4th Precinct at the department’s Minneapolis Strategic Targeting and Analysis Team (MSTAT) meeting. She was recognized for her many years of support for the North Minneapolis community, and the 4th Precinct officers and support staff. She regularly brings homemade treats to the precinct, and helps to make sure that all the officers working at the precinct on Thanksgiving have a hot meal to eat every year. Buzzy also attends local events to support police and community relations.
Also recognized at this meeting were community members Diana Hawkins for all her work in the Hawthorne Neighborhood and beyond, Domestic Violence Navigator Cece Olsen for her support of victims and survivors, Crime Prevention Specialist Shannon McDonough for building strong community ties, two sergeants and one officer for their dedication to public safety, and a retired lieutenant was honored for his years of service.
The Minneapolis Strategic Targeting and Analysis Team meets weekly where the Minneapolis Police Department analyzes crime data and trends to inform and adjust law enforcement strategies. The monthly MSTAT meetings are open to the public. They are hosted in and by a different precinct each month to share this information, including crime statistics and their impact, with the public. The October MSTAT meeting was hosted by the 4th Precinct at the Cora McCovey Center.
