The PCYC Annual Children’s Gift Sale returns to the Capri on Saturday December 13. Thousands of donations and hundreds of volunteers have made this event a success over its 60-year history. This year, about 600 North Minneapolis youth will shop for gifts for family members in the pop-up gift store in the Paradise at the Capri. CoMingL returns to the Capri stage in December with its second annual “Black Co-MingL Nativity,” a festive re-imagining of the story of Christmas, again featuring actor Nubia Monks. Witness this acclaimed 10-piece local band put a soulful modern twist on the seasonal tale, recentering love as its theme. Showtime is 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, and 3 p.m. Sunday December 20. Tickets are $40 or $35 for students, and can be found at thecapri.org.

This month’s First Thursday Films @ the Capri is Bob Marley: One Love, a biopic of the reggae legend’s life and legacy. Following the screening, Star Tribune arts reporter Rohan Preston leads a discussion. Showtime is 7 p.m. December 4, tickets $5 at thecapri.org or at the door.

Youth in grades 5 – 8 are invited to attend Camp Capri Third Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday December 6, where talented teaching artists guide middle school scholars through the wonderful world of the arts, sparking all sorts of creative interests along the way.
