Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 4656 Colfax, needs donations for their food shelf food and for their free lunch served Monday-Friday. Drop off any donations of non-perishable goods at Gethsemane Lutheran, 47th and Colfax. On the second and fourth Sundays of the month you are welcome to take a bag of groceries home with you. Info: 612-521-3575. Their Camden Promise Food Shelf feeds boxes of food to community families every week. For first time recipients, bring your ID and proof of residency (like a bill with your name and address on it). You will be given points to spend based on your household size. Free lunch is served and children are always welcome. They also have a Camden Clothing Shop, open every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Info:  glcmpls.org/.

Salem Lutheran, 4150 Dupont, hosts free community dinners, curbside pick-up begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. Two meals per bag. Everyone welcome. Info: 612-521-3644. Come to the main (south) entrance for a meal served to-go. Meals are served to everyone—neighbors, new friends and members. Each bag includes two servings of a home-cooked, packaged meal. Light groceries are also available. They encourage arriving early for added community time and ensuring you get a meal before they run out! Info: salemelca.org/.

NorthPoint Health and Welfare Center’s food shelf, 2220 Plymouth Ave N, provides supplemental food and is making healthy food more accessible. There’s weekly shopping for free food, household items and more:  including cleaning supplies, personal hygiene, tampons, pads, condoms, pet food. You may find parent support: baby food and formula (supply varies), diapers and breastmilk – pasteurized donor human milk bridge bags. Hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The food shelf is closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Food in the ‘Hood at Beacon of Hope Beacon of Hope Church, 2827 N Newton. 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 5-7 p.m. And Food in the ‘Hood at Sanctuary Haven, Sanctuary Covenant Church, 710 W Broadway. Haven Pantry is open to the public to shop for groceries every Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. No appointment necessary. The Twin Cities Salvation Army serves hot meals at several of their centers. They also stock eight food shelves and offer distributions of bakery and produce items. The food is free to anyone in need, no questions asked. Food shelves offer a wide range of groceries, allowing individuals and families in need to stretch their budgets. Three of their locations provide special food support for homeless youth, too. The nearest Salvation Army is at 2024 N Lyndale Ave, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Phone: 612-522-6581. Ongoing – North City Church serves a Community Meal on Sundays at 10 a.m. inside Webber Community Center during the school year. And on Thursdays and Saturdays- New Oil Christian Center Food Give-Away is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Fresh food items: fruits, vegetable, dairy product, meat and non-perishable items. 440th and Thomas.
