News from Camden High School

"Welcome and Hello" mural at Camden High.

Camden High School will be welcoming students and their families on Thursday, August 18. An orientation for incoming 9th graders will occur from 1-4  p.m. followed by a barbeque for students, families and the surrounding community from 4-6 p.m.

The mural (pictured) of “Welcome and Hello” was designed by last school year’s Murals class to honor the many languages spoken by our students and their families. The mural is located on the wall of one of the school’s stairwells. It also incorporates the four languages taught in the World Language Department of Camden High: Chinese, Spanish, Hmong and French. The mural highlights the benefits of acquiring experience in more than one language. Thank you, Ms. Krikava and students! Camden High is lucky to have amazing Fine Arts and World Language teachers who collaborated on this venture.

Look for the final phase or the Camden High School mural “Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Future” which is being installed on the north side of the building. Thanks go to community artist and muralist Charles Caldwell, Camden High art teacher Emily Krikava, and students who have been designing and building this mural for the past 18 months.
